Yaw rate

Post by Timmytom »

While doing a donut I had the engine light and my service stabilitrack light come on. I changed the fuel injector and it’s still shooting code for it. I jsut cleared the yaw rate code and it seems to be fine. But after changing The fuel injector the trans is shifting really hard and it seems like it vibrates when I’m around 30-40% on the gas pedal. I have no idea what could be the issue and I need more insight. I also checked the wiring and it was completely fine.

As usual, the car fires off a whole stack of codes, few of which actually mean anything useful. You didn't mention ALL the codes that got set, or what year the car is, which may help others. There is no reason to replace a fuel injector with a yaw rate sensor code. A Yaw Rate code can indicate a wiring issue or a problem with the yaw rate sensor, which seems to be located between the front seats, although I have not verified this. The GM parts diagram shows one floating in space.

Do you have a decent scanner that can query. the BCM and other modules for codes? The solution may lie there, if you haven't.

Given the harsh shifting and other complaints, I'd start looking for a loose/broken ground wire, and make sure the battery cables are clean and tight.

As CTD says, you need to check for codes. If you have a harsh shift, your next move is to check engine and trans codes. There's a pile of codes that cause high line pressure, and then harsh shifts.
