RainX Headlight Restore

Post by impaladakid »

So I used this product, and got great results. I do feel based on cost of new headlight capsules, if I had to do it again, I would have gotten one kit per headlamp. I started with a cordless drill, and moved over to a corded drill that had higher RPMs, and lasted indefinitely longer. The Passenger side was the worst of the two, but once finished, the drivers side was the one with more issues inside. Still cheaper than replacements.

Not bad. I'll have to remember that soon, mine are overdue for some TLC. Now if we could find someone that could manufacture a glass retrofit lens for those puppies.....

I know I was pleased with the results. It is not a quick job. Took about an hour per side.

How about a glass cover with embedded UV protection? You "fix" your headlights and cover with our new invention. Send us your headlight, we "cast" a glass UV filter cover and we make millions. Feed the mayonnaise to the tuna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15CuGvHxCTE.

I've got the next best thing. When I restored mine, I used 3M clear UV film. Was a bitch to get the compound curves done with a few attempts and did have some wrinkles towards bottom but they turned out really good.
