Camaro 5 rear suspension swap

Post by Black6 »

Has anyone on here done a rear suspension swap to Camaro 5 stuff?

I know some G8 guys have done full cradles or have done suspension swaps, just wondering if anyone here has done it themselves and their experiences with it.

Swap is complete. Only things re used were rear diff, sway bars/links, e brake cables and cradle.

All Camaro stuff was used. So now I have sealed hubs, Camaro rear brakes, Camaro axles. Surprising that even the Camaro wheel speed sensors plugged right in and the Camaro brake lines went right on no issues.

If anyone ever has a wheel bearing issue, I would highly suggest just swapping suspension.

Can still get most of it new from GM and with 1LE parts I think I have under $500 in all new control arm pieces and wheel bearings, bought used spindles and axles.

Nice to know this is an option. Any reason you didn't go with the Camaro rear diff?

Thanks!
