Driveline flex joint limits

Post by Capeasy »

Planning out my next upgrade which includes a Procharger, my current RWHP is a little north of 400hp after boosting might be around 550-600. Are these flex joints capable of handling this much torque? I'm Old school and always relied on bigger U-joints for the 60/70s GM muscle cars for added insurance. Is this a concern for us if we go to the track with Drag Radials?

From reading on this forum, the SS, and the Camaro5 I haven't heard of the driveshaft being a common failure point. Usually its the rear half-shafts or sometimes the rear diff.
