Front fender vent removal

Front fender vent removal

Hi, I'd like to remove and re-paint these. Does anyone know how to remove these?

If I remember correctly, I just squeezed the horizontal bar in the middle to pull the top and bottom together.

Did pulling them by hand work? I wasn't sure if you had to go behind the fender to remove them or not.

They are just a press fit. With tabs top and bottom.
