P/N for transmission cooling quick connector at radiator
P/N for transmission cooling quick connector at radiator
I've been refreshing the cooling system on my 2014 Chevy Caprice PPV. I ran into an issue with the radiator that required me to remove the radiator from the car.
The transmission cooling lines that connect to the bottom of the radiator have a slight issue (or at least one of them). It appears the o-ring in one of them is no fully sealing as well as it did before they were disturbed by removing the lines.
I cannot seem to find the proper part number for the quick connect fittings. Does anyone know the correct part number? It should be the same for the 14-17 Caprice as well as the 14-17 SS Sedan since they use the same radiator.
Thanks!

Do you think just replacing the o-ring would fix it?
Re: P/N for transmission cooling quick connector at radiator
This is about the closest I could find. Doorman is usually available at local parts stores so maybe you could go compare before you buy:

But check the list here, they list dimensions, that maybe more helpful:

Oh and the clip is available separately from GM if someone ever needs that, I know I have lost them a few times.

Re: P/N for transmission cooling quick connector at radiator
Thanks Steve!
Replacing the o-ring might fix it as well. Finding the right o-ring (material and size) is the next thing. I located an o-ring / clip set on eBay for a variety of GM transmission oil cooling lines. I'll purchase that to have on-hand.
I cleaned both oil cooling line connectors (externally) again last night and took a long test drive this morning with no leaks detected. I may have had some residual tranny fluid in the connector. I thought I cleaned it well before my first test drive, but maybe I didn't. I verified the front tranny cooler was "warm" after the test drive to confirm fluid is flowing through the system.
I'll monitor the lines and when the kit arrives, I'll install them if necessary. The biggest pain of this is you need to raise the radiator or remove it to gain access to these tranny oil cooler lines on the bottom of the radiator since they reside in a recess where the bottom of the radiator sits.

I changed mine during cam swap. I used 15226661.

Since the 2014-2017 Caprice has a different radiator, I wonder if this is the same one used in those model years. Thanks for the part number!

Re: P/N for transmission cooling quick connector at radiator
How did you find that number and determine it was the correct fit?
Re: P/N for transmission cooling quick connector at radiator
If anyone ever wants to plumb AN lines to/from the radiator, -6 Russell o-ring boss fittings work perfectly (part # 670840). I have had them in my radiator for a few years with no issues.

Re: P/N for transmission cooling quick connector at radiator
it appears that the 14-17 does not service that fitting , unless you replace the radiator
that includes the SS both auto and manual trans
