So I have yet to try E85 in my PPV.
I have always heard negatives about E85.........but is it good for our engines?
Have not tried E85 yet
Re: Have not tried E85 yet
it was made to run on flex fuels , only thing you will notice is the mileage will drop , it will seem to be more peppy , but at most its only a 5-10hp gain

Re: Have not tried E85 yet
And E85 can run in both LFX and L77 cars. I've run one tankful in mine so far and that was on the run from Raleigh NC to Central Florida. That's one reason the fuel tables are so robust in HP Tuners for these cars is that they have to be made to run on not only E85 and regular unleaded, but all the mixtures that can result from say, a tank of 50/50.
It gives horsepower a bit of a shot in the arm, but as far as damage from running it? Unless you have significantly modified the fuel tables or have made physical hardware changes to the fuel system the car was made to run with it. Components, hoses, all the bits & pieces were designed and tested with both fuels in mind.
Now take on a load of Avgas and that's a completely different story!

Re: Have not tried E85 yet
E85 drops my mpg to 75% of what I get with Premium 91. However, the E85 costs 70% of the cheapest Premium available. I always use E85 for daily commute, only filling premium on long trips when E85 is not available.
The car runs noticably better with E85. Oddly, i was getting an evap tank vacuum code only with E85 that eventually went away.
My spark tables are modified to stock ls3 settings for petrol.

Same here. I love E85. It is about 70% the cost of premium fuel and allows more timing and boost (if applicable). Its like buying race gas cheaper then regular fuel. Of course you get the hit in MPG but I don't buy big engine vehicles for the mpg. LOL. Before the Caprice I ran E85 in my Grand Prix for about 5 years. Also it smells nicer too. I don't track my mpg so I could not tell you the difference.

Re: Have not tried E85 yet
I haven't tried 91 premium yet because we have so many E85 gas stations around my house. Gas prices are so high right now. There is about $1.50 difference in cost. E85 is $3.25
