First major update to the file. I think I have found all of the 2011 VINs and most of the 2017 VINs. I also determined that at least some of the Middle East Caprices were intermixed amongst the PPV VINs (I went ahead and kept those VINs in the list and just marked them as Middle East.

Once I "find" all of the VINs and the SS production list is complete I will start pulling actual RPO code lists to get the actual car options (color, patrol/detective, etc.).

To respond to the question of how you know it's a demo car.. My Dad and I both bought very low mile cars a 2014 and a 2017. The 2017 has the RPO code in the build sheet for "show car" and the other one is a 2014 with a pre-production RPO code. Since the production Vins are posted I came to find out the 17 we have was the first 2017 off the line.

I just came across this post. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this together. I always wanted to find out more information on my vehicle. According to my Build Sheet, mine was designated for "CVMS Use". It also has the SPID code OAR (Evaluation Vehicle). I purchased it in October of 2017 at a Chevy Dealer in CT with just under 600 miles on it. Any further info you might have or come across, I would greatly appreciate your letting me know. Bought Nov 2017 new, showing 55 miles from a Chicagoland dealer. Never modified.
Current mileage about 16k. Daily driver.

Backstory (documented in more detail on the forum here somewhere): first owner title direct from Criswell Chevrolet in MD. For those that don't know the story, Criswell ordered 13 with an original sales contract not containing the "only for fleet/police" verbiage with intent to sell to public. Advertised them for sale. Story went viral. I caught the story from an automotive blog in the morning, immediately called Criswell and put down a deposit. I was told I was number 3. A few hours later, I exchanged some more emails with the sales manager and was told I was the last sale. Only 3 sales were completed that day when GM management contacted Criswell and shut them down. The remaining 10 cars were to be returned to GM. I drove out there with a friend, completed the sale, picked up the car and drove it home to Pittsburgh. I did not have access to most of the the other PPVs, they were stored in a remote lot. They just asked me what color I wanted, pulled it from the lot, installed the additional options they were including, I test drove it, and that was that.

I later verified that the remaining cars were indeed returned and not sold as requested by GM.

Looking through my old emails with them, I may have a one or more VINs to post that they sent me while I was still in discussions with them about car color and options that they were adding.

Pic of same car. It was already prepped for sale when I got there. It wasn't in their remote lot but on their main lot. No idea what ultimately happened to this car. Whether it was sold. Or sent back. Maybe someone here on the forum got it?!?
