I am a number guy and got a little bored, so I decided to compile a spreadsheet with all of the VIN/production info that I could find for the SS Sedans. You can find the information/topic here: SS OFFICIAL Master Production List - All Years

I recently decided to build off of that data and start a second sheet for the Caprice PPVs. I am working to compile a list of as many VIN numbers as I can readily determine (based upon VINs I find online and building sequentially off of those, excluding ones I know are for the SS cars).

I hope that eventually I might be able to find "all" the Caprice VINs (as close as possible to the assumed total sale numbers) and the cumulative list will show the full production specs. Eventually I hope to possibly pull RPO code information to update the file to indicate corresponding paint color and possibly other "desirable" options.



For now, I could use your help with the collection/processing of information. If you could you provide the following information that you have on any 2011-2017 Caprices:

NOTE: Since some people may be sensitive about providing full VIN, you may provide only the last 6 of VIN for security purposes (even with last 6 digits you would still need to recreate/determine the check digit to know the full VIN)

I won't be too much help, you already have my vin listed through NY open data.. I was lucky enough to find 6g1mk5u25cl602184 at a New York State surplus auction on 4/17/19. Its a 2012 Black 9c3 6.0 optioned car, built 10/2011. I highly suspect it was used in the NYS Bureau of Criminal Investigation Unit (BCI). All regular troop cars are blue and I know of a BCI investigator that was assigned an unmarked caprice for duty which leads me to believe they probably did a run of these cars for BCI.

I still hope to work on this VIN project, but for the time being here is information that I received from a GM certification engineer at Holden that worked on the PPV export project.
