But I goofed when I slid the pin into the wrong spot in the connector and the steering wheel connection.. Luckily I have release tools...I went to pull it out and POP...it broke. It was released too...just pulling it out broke it.

The problem is this pin is GM specific. It has a specific lock provision as well as a orientation tab...so it HAS to be the same one. Any substitute and we risk leads that could pop out or even cause damage to the pins on the BCM. So need to order another kit or...somethin..

I will get the rest done another time. I need to figure out this lead and get the wheel on. At least the hard part is done. I have a few ideas on what I can do.

Wrecking yard to the rescue. RIP Camaro..you shall live on through your contributions. In this case...a single wire..I see it from here.

I got the harness and depinned the connector. Then I went and popped off the battery terminals and steering cover. I left the lead just laying in there so could just do it. I used a heat shrink butt connector and got it in the correct spot this time

Next...get the wheel swapped out. So I know I dont have the tuning done yet for the paddles...butIm stilll excited cause it looks like a MUCH better shape and material. First we defuse the explosive device...Surpsice how easy these come off.

So the center spoke cover is a different shade of silver. The centers can swap out if I want too..and I may. But the shape and material is whats up.

I forgot to mention. When I assembled the car I had a feeling I had moved the clock spring. Put it back to where I thought it should go and when I assembled it..it starting throwing a stabilitrak fault. I checked the values earlier and noticed the steering was not seeing center. It was like 30 degrees off in the system. I went through and performed a relearn on the steering angle sensor and not only did the fault go away, but it drives better than it ever has. Turns out since it's electric steering, the car tries to center the wheel. SO the entire time I have owned this..it felt like it was fighting me....cause it was. Drives wonderful now and the wheel feels WAY better in my hands...cant wait to get the paddle shift working

I have been trying to figure out the whole "Surveillance Mode" thing for a while ..but haven been able to find the white/violet wire. Well...after some looking around I found out why. Someone changed the wire colors. So I was finally able to find the right wire..grounded it and boom..everything blacked out. Pretty cool

I was hearing a tick in the engine and assumed something was wrong...long story short its just LS noises with headers. Went and road in 3 other cars...looked at videos..and the clicking I kinda hear at low rpm is on all of them. Even went to the guy that did my cam..schooled me on "quiet manifolds"...didnt even know that was a thing. But along the way I did want to do the valve cover gaskets and checked everything over. Glad I got those out of the way...just had a slow seep

I got something COOOL! After some reading I plugged it in and tried to familiarize myself with the interface. Took my longer to figure out how to apply my credits than anything. But after a while, I was able to learn how to read...make adjustments.then write. And low and behold...got the paddle shifter working. It driver SOOO much better and predictable ...and now I can make fresh donuts and get it on the dyno
