Radio preset plays briefly and goes silent. Manual tuning OK.

I have a 2011 9c3 with the factory radio. When i use the preset button to tune into a station the volume cuts out after a few seconds. It only happened with one station, but now has happened to a second preset. Anyone heard of this problem?

Tell me this if you use your steering wheel controls to up the volume does it do the same thing?
We have had issues with he volume knob on the face being very unresponsive. Usually never cut out the sound on it's own though.

It's not the volume control that's affected. the station plays briefly and then goes silent. right now it occurs on only 2 stations. If I press the station preset several times it will then lock onto the signal.
