Ticket Light ( RED/WHT ) INOP ---PLEASE HELP!!!!

Post by MoCo9C1 »

what wires in the map/dome light can i splice into to get the ticket light working?

the car came with the ticket light but didn't work

I spliced into one of the purple wires that operate the dome and map light but its only giving me enough volts to power on the red led, and not the white light..

WHAT WIRE(S) CAN I USE TO GET OPERATION USING THE FACTORY DOME/MAP LIGHTS for my ticket light

any thoughts its a 2012 ppv

There is a separate orange wire and black wire going up into the headliner just for the ticket light. Was your ticket light hooked up before? You check the fuse for it?

Oh or are you saying it came with a light but it was not installed yet?

It came with it already installed...didnt check the fuse unfortunately.

it was connected to the white and black wire, but I already cut the white wire located in the headliner already (smh)

Since I did that I spliced into a hot wire that operates the factory dome and map light, but only getting enough power to operate the red light and not the white using the switch

Happen to be at the shop today and took a look at a wrecked 2013, which has the headliner hanging down due to side air bag deployment. There is a black and orange wire, like Steve mentioned, that is hot all of the time. The wires are about 12” back from from the opening for the overhead console. The wiring is glued to the headliner backing and there is very little slack at the connector. If you don’t mind pulling the glue loose, there is plenty of wire to enable the connector to be pulled through the opening for the overhead console. If I knew how to quickly post a picture, I would. If you PM me your number, I can text you a picture of the top of the headliner.
