New Guy

Post by ProjectGoFast »

Been lurking here for a little while and finally got around to making an account. I recently sold my Gen 2 CTS-V to focus on building my Chevelle.
I struggled daily driving my F-150, the EB 3.5 has some good power but my V was pulleyed and Tuned so there's no comparison.
Thought the SS sedan market would have gotten better but it seems they are made of unobtainium which led me down the Caprice path.

Been searching all the sites daily looking for the right Caprice at a decent price, still trying to decide to buy one at auction or just purchase one has been sorted out by someone else.

Welcome! To answer your question with my opinion, and everyone has one....

Now, I'd opt for one that's been sorted and with the options you are wanting. Of particular importance now is finding one with a decent interior and exterior, something that's either not been abused while in service, or one where an owner has replaced the broken bits already. New/better-condition panels, switches and other parts are getting harder to find, since the platform is now years out of production and the manufacturer is now out of business.

The drivetrain is pretty much standard GM stuff. Many body and interior parts are specifically Caprice. Nowadays, I'd find one that looks great in and out, and has everything functioning as expected. But that's just me.
