The idle hours are high but so are many of our cars. The wear is on the engine and accessories but not the rest of the car. There may be some risk but once you get it, you can monitor oil pressure and consumption. If those measures are to your liking, drive it like crazy. If not, you can schedule your adventure (rings, bearings, cam, lifters). If you do a lot of the work, it's not a ton of money and you end up with a freshened up motor and a great car.
