Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors
Re: Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors
Here are pics of my Camaro front. Caddy CTSv rears. I was lucky to get the $450 front upgrade kit. I was told there were on like 7 left at the dealers. When I picked them up he had 3 other people call for them that morning.

Because Adam can't remember all the details, and those are now MY brakes...
Can anyone give me the complete details of what's in his pictures?

Re: Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors
Front is a Gen6 Camaro (Alpha chassis) caliper package - no external fluid transfer line, 4-piston, all same size. Rotor is 345mm replacement for PPV - looks like Raybestos R-300 slotted. Mounting bolts are 14mm. Front pads that came with kit had D1474(A) pads with the small dampers - most likely will not clear the OEM 18" wheel, so the dampers are cut away, or pads are replaced with D1001 spec from early CTS-V & G8 GXP.
Do not know or assume wheels Adam was using or what you have on the car now.
Rear caliper is CTS-V - depending on year there could be minor differences - some CTS calipers mount in lead (ahead of axle centerline), some mount in trail. What is important is that bleed valves are in the top position as mounted to Zeta/PPV - the caliper is differential bore, with smaller piston in the lower position when correctly mounted. Rotor is a drilled/slotted part, 360mm, from the SS sedan....likely sourced from Powerstop.

Thanks!
The rears are mounted in trail.
It's got the 18" steelies on it still. The Wife likes the Enkei SS05 18x8 rim, I'm researching if it will clear these monster rear brakes.

"Front is a Gen6 Camaro (Alpha chassis) caliper package - no external fluid transfer line, 4-piston, all same size."
Should it have an external transfer line? Is it perfectly fine without it?
They work great as is, so I'm guessing it's fine.

Re: Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors
The point is that Gen5 Camaro, SS sedan, and G8 GXP/Cad CTS-V1 are earlier generation 4-piston Brembo calipers, which have external fluid transfer lines, as well as "differential bore" piston sizing - paired smaller & larger opposing pistons.
Gen6 Camaro uses 4-piston Brembo calipers with NO external fluid transfer line and all pistons are the same size.
Gen6 calipers, unlike Gen5, cannot be "flipped" - calipers are position specific, as long as bleed valves remain in the "up" position.
