Walt,
Our stock converter and the aftermarket converters will have the ability to lock up at cruising speeds to avoid the slipping. Just make sure that your tuner addresses the new higher stall converter and adjusts for the new stall speeds. You gotta love modern technology!

Due to the lack of adjustability at the rocker like an old small block. You need to verify the pushrod length is correct so the preload on the lifter is correct. Thats why comp is saying it needs to be checked.

There are several ways to do it but i think the most accurate way is with an adjustable pushrod tool. The comp brand one is about 20 bucks so its not to bad. Do a quick search on the internet and you will find a few videos and write ups about it.

Thanks O'lblue68, so aren't they hydraulic allowing a bit of leeway? And is there some standard pushrod lengths available for are motors or are the machines to the exact length we call out?.

Some cam manufacturers simply regrind existing cams. Also, some more-radical cam profiles end up cutting down the base circle to achieve the wanted profile. You can only fit so much cam lobe into the engine to clear the bearings, so if you want more lift, you'll have to cut the base circle down more. They can be cut down more than the 'leeway' will compensate for.

So it's best to verify the required length while you have the engine apart and get pushrods that fit, vs. discovering they're too short after you get the engine back together and refilled with oil/coolant.

You can get adjustable rockers, but they're not cheap, and you may still not be able to reach the base circle, dependin on cam vendor and grind.
