Technical Manuals

Post by storm9c1 »

The 2011 versions are hard to find nowadays. We should probably download and post perma-links here of each year's technical manuals since GM tends to hide older versions...

2011 Caprice PPV Technical Manual
2011 Police Fleet Technical Manual

These links are permanent on my own private servers. They won't go away anytime soon.

Enjoy.

Thanks for that, Tom--and so everyone understands, this is online data (GM Media), not the PPV "factory service manual".

FYI to all - I was browsing around e-bay and found that someone markets a CD/DVD FSM--this was for G8, have not yet determined whether one exists for PPV.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Servic ... ur-Vehicle
-On-Convenient-CD-ROM-/290886762152?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Y
ear%3A2009|Make%3APontiac|Model%3AG8|Submodel%3AGT|Engine+-+Liter_Display%3A6.0L
&hash=item43ba33bea8&vxp=mtr

The link works--you just have to highlight the entire thing and paste into your browser. I've sent an inquiry to the seller of the G8 version to see if one exists for PPV.

Correct. Those links I posted are the pre/post-sales technical manuals. Not the FSM.

On the mail list, you sent the following for the Helm FSM -- which is also great info. I hope you don't mind me reposting it here for safe keeping. I already tried ordering a set, but forgot to reload my disposable credit/debit card that I use for one-time online purchases like that, so the transaction was declined. Ooops. I'll try again after I reload it.

As far as I'm concerned, these are the only manuals you will ever need:
If any of you may be interested, here's the FSM info--order from Helm, Inc.

(input PN into search box, upper left)

PN is GMP11M

FSM's have gotten pricey since 1996!

I ordered the Helm Factory Service Manuals today. Came to $221 with shipping and handling. A little pricey, but the information is priceless when it comes down to it.

Yep. There is a version of the manuals on CD. I'm wishing I would have gotten that now when I ordered my 2011 Helm, I have three thick blue books sitting on the bookcase in back of my desk. At least prices on the manuals have not increased.... I've been referring to them for a few things over the last several days, probably would have been simpler to print the few pages I needed off a CD.

Too bad I didn't hear about the CD version sooner.... Though I don't mind books. I have a bookshelf in my garage for FSMs. Easy access. And no computer needed.
