Re: Hesitation in downshifting when in sport mode
I considered it was a transmission issue, but this only happens in "sport" mode. In regular mode, transmission shifts fine. yesterday I was putting on mileage to get the car ready for emissions readiness, and drove a bit in sport mode, and it shifted great. Later on, back in shift mode, an...

Hesitation in downshifting when in sport mode
Anyone have an issue with their transmission not wanting to downshift while the car is in sport mode?
Mine started doing that a while ago, slow in downshifting, but now it got worse.

Trunk bow tie logo replacement
Is a replacement of the gold part of the rear bowtie emblem available?
Mine is damaged and GM is crazy asking $70+ for a new one made out of plastic.
If one is available in black, even better.

Re: Replacement transmission mount
I pretty much know the difference between a cross member and a transimission mount, but assumed since RA had it listed as a mount that it was a smaller part, the same size as the mounts, just in aluminum instead of plastic.......
No I need to get a mount LOL
Thank you all for the guidance.

Replacement transmission mount
SO i ordered a new transmission mount from RockAuto, and I got this huge piece of Aluminum , ( maybe 2 ft wide). The second picture) I assumed it was smaller like black rubber part in the first picture. So which is actually the mount? I think the aluminum one is more like a cross member to mount the...

Re: Are harmonic balancers on these engines a problem?
Mine is chirpping very loudly, while it can be other parts of the belt system, maybe the tensioner or pulleys, I'm pretty sure it's the balancer.
Does the radiator hve to come out for the balancer to be replaced?

Are harmonic balancers on these engines a problem?
So my '12 V8 PPV has a balancer problem.....it shakes a bit, and it's noisy. (86,000 miles)
A mechanic friend of mine, who owns a late 2000 vette, told me he had to replace his GM one twice and went with fluidampr the second time.
Are the GM ones known to be problematic?
