So, I’ve got an early 90s Mazda B2600i with a 5 speed. I pulled up to a stoplight and everything was fine. When the light turned green, I released the clutch pedal…but it stayed on the floorboard. I was able to pull it up…and after that, 1 through 4 was fine. But there’s no 5th or reverse (5th will engage, but kick out unless I hold it in, and I can’t engage reverse at all). Clutch reservoir was full, no leaks…normal roadside checks didn’t reveal anything useful.
So, I decided to attack the easy stuff first…new master and slave cylinders, bleed the system, etc…but no dice. Problem remains. So, I figured I’d reach out to some of you on here, as we seem to be a bit of an older crowd, so I’m hoping there are still some folks with manual tranny experience. And yes, 5th and R are in the same quadrant. I’d really like to NOT have to drop the tranny.
