DEALER PROGRAMMED NEW KEYS BUT DOOR LOCKS DONT WORK

1 OF THE 3 2013 CAPRICE PPV'S WE GOT ONLY HAD A KEY (NO KEY CONNETED TO FOB) MY CHEVROLET DEALER BOUGHT 2 NEW KEYFOBS AND HAD THEM CUT AND PROGRAMMED BOTH KEYS. BOTH START THE CAR JUST FINE BUT NEITHER WILL UNLOCK OR LOCK THE DOORS FROM KEYFOB. ANY IDEAS? THE BATTERIES IN THE CAPRICES WERE SO DEAD THE DEALER PUT 2 NEW BATTERIES TO TRY AND START THE CAR BUT STILL NO LUCK. AN HOUR LATER THE TECH FOUND OUT THE CAR WENT IN SOME PROTECTION MODE THAT WOULDNT LET THE CAR TO START. DONT KNOW IF THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE KEYFOBS NOT WORKING. AFTER THE NEW ENGINE AND TRANS ARE INSTALLED I WILL BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALER TO DIVE INTO BUT WAS CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE.

Please refrain from all-caps posts in the future as in the on-line world you're screaming at us.

Sounds like either the dealer didn't program the remotes properly or perhaps the car is not acting on the commands. I know there was at least 1 TSB out on remote programming. Dealers do those frequently so chances are probably lower that they were misprogrammed. Did they use the correct remote for the car?

I believe there is a limit to the number of fobs that can be programmed into the system. Pretty sure can purge the file of old fobs with a decent scan tool.

From the 2013 Caprice technical guide (we have a copy for download in the files section...);

NOTE: A maximum of 8 keys may be learned for a vehicle immobilizer (Passkey III+)
with a random key code. Vehicles with the fleet key option (RPO 6E3 or 6E4) may
have an unlimited number of keys learned for the particular option fleet key and
must be learned using one of the original "master" keys. When programming the
RPO AMF additional 6 remote transmitters, the original 2 transmitters delivered with
a vehicle must also be reprogrammed at the same time. A maximum of 8 remote
transmitters can be programmed for a single vehicle.
