2011-13 vs 2014-2017 Hood

I'm seeing a clear part number difference between the hoods. In 1st gen vs 2 gen Caprice. Can anyone tell me the difference? I'm in need of a hood for my 2014 and searching for one the gm 11-13 is $289 and the 14-17 is $1700

The hood latch u part on the hood is larger on the 11-13 vs 14-17 IIRC. It may be opposite but definitely one year range is larger and slightly deeper than the other.

I had to swap hoods and rad support on my '12 and pulled parts off of 2 separate year cars, not thinking there would be any difference. Ended up gettting a flap wheel to sand a little material off of the U on the hood for it to fit into the latch on the core support. Works fine, haven't had any issues even up to 140
