What breaks will fit stock 18-in rims? Besides the OEM?

Post by gavatronx9 »

Hey guys it's been awhile since I've been on here.

Starting to get all my ducks in a row and I'm starting to do more research on what goes what and who does what things go where and you know all that good stuff.

So here's my situation and maybe the fine individuals out there who have already done stuff like this will be able to kind of give me a heads up and even a parts list would be really cool too with exactly what maybe you guys bought.

I have a 2012 ppv Caprice it's got the police stock package on it. I haven't really done much with the braking system but I am thinking about getting some new Wheels which are going to be the same size as the factory steelies, and I really don't want to go into big time conversion land all that much.

Now what I've noticed online is is that it's really hard to find the factory 2 piston front calipers and it's getting harder to find the rear police calipers as well.

So my question to you guys is how did you get around this?

What did you use to convert straight over and still stay inside the 18 inch wheel?

Caddie? G8? SS? Camaro? Corvette? GTO?

Or if anybody has links on the Forum somewhere here where they can point me in the right direction and I'll just read it for myself because I've spent about 2 hours looking for this that would be awesome as well.

Thank you very much for your time. I'm hoping that next year I'll be able to get to the Midwest cookout which I really wanted to go but I missed. But I'd like to probably hit some Holden or Caprice meet up somewhere around America when I get the chance.

Be cool thanks again!

NavyLifer is our brakes guru on here, he'd be the best to answer your question.

Here is what I did...

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1488&hilit=cts+brembo. We had to swap the lead/lag pistons around on these due to their brake bleeder orientation.

Just search "Brembo' and there are a lot of threads that have already discussed this...

I went with the front Brembo setup Bill outlined a while back. Check out page 3 of my project thread:

I've been 1000% pleased with the results.
