ISO 92457619 Chrome Reveal Molding

Hey All,

I was able to get the driverside ordered at my local dealer but need help finding GM part 92457619. This is the chrome molding that goes along the roof from the mirror to the rear door. GM calls it chrom roof reveal molding. Anyone have one in like new condition they can part with?

used or possibly getting something form AU , or finding someone with any NOS parts , are your only choices

Thanks, are there any yards in the mid atlantic region that deal primarily in these cars? I tried the car-parts.com search but not sure what the part is called on thier site.

LKQ Pick your part in Baltimore Md (Hawkins Point) is currently showing 6 Caprices in inventory. Not sure where you are located, but may be worth a drive for you?

i know hawks 3rd gen usually has some caprices , and days parts yard might have some

but even if its something you dont see listed on what ever sites you are searching , if they are parting anything caprice , would be worth a call to them direclty to ask about it

but keep in mind alot of them are likely to have some damage from the light bar

Looks like I need both sides now. The dealer that was getting one for me came back empty handed saying they one they found wasn't the anymore. Anyone knew of somewhere good to look? I have a LKQ near me but I cannot figure out what the part is listed as on their site.

Most salvage yards will not inventory a piece of chrome attached to a body. You might try calling your LKQ to see what Caprices they have in stock and if they might let you eyeball the cars (many will not). Chances of LKQ's guys pulling a piece of chrome molding for you are low at best. Unless you just throw wads of cash at them. They want to sell you a whole roof instead of nickle-dime molding. Now if they run a U-pull-it yard, that's a whole different ballgame!

Use car-part.com to try to find Caprices in yards in your area. If you find some, see if you can find a yard that will let you inspect the car and/or pull your own parts. Another good try is Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for people that are individual owners that are parting cars after powertrain pulls. I see those a lot, they've turned a car into a roller and are trying to make money off the remainder.

One other trick I've used at salvage yards where they're busy and stand-off'ish to you, go to your local donut shop. Buy a nice big box of glazed donuts. Take them with you to the yard & give them to the counter guy. Food can open doors for you where other things can't! Remember, for small parts patience and persistence pay off in the end. The LKQ's that i referenced earlier in this thread are ones where you pick and pull your own parts. If they show a Caprice in inventory, there is a high probability that this molding is still on the car. I'm not sure how easy it is to remove without breaking the clips that secure it??

Thanks for all the ideas, Im looking into getting it repaired as well since I cannot find any caprices local to me.
