What are the tricks with the 2011?

Post by yargnits »

I just read how you can hold the "performance mode" for 10 seconds on 2012 cars and it fully disables the traction control. I'm bummed I can't do that. What can be done?

I thought I read that the radio and BCM update from White would put the hour meter function on the 2011. Chris, any chance at adding the above trick? And while you're at it, disable the fasten seat belt chime? (the light can stay on)

If you got the 9C3 you can disable the traction control through the button near the shiftier. Or do you mean you want to permanently disable it?

Think even after each start up in the 12 9C1's you have to re disable it. Kind of an important feature to have functioning.

Not permanently disable. I just got the impression that the '12s were able to disable more by holding the button for 10 seconds. It was discussed back in October http://newcaprice.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 5fb1#p8700" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A couple posts later Bob Dannelley said it can't be done on a 2011. I was hoping he'd chime in. I wanted to as publicly for general knowledge before sending a PM.

As far as I know, on 2011's, you cannot totally turn off stabiltrac, by holding the button down. Later year models appear to have that function. It will not turn off on mine. I do not know if this can be tuned out. I don't think HPtuners has that ability. I did have to tune out, via HPtuners, some parameters, so I could spin the tires, while powerbraking, to heat the track tires, at the track.

Well, I finally had the opportunity to try power braking with my '11 in Performance Mode.

No problem. Lit them up with no complaints from the computer.

Maybe the button in a 2011 disables more than the 2012 since the guy said he couldn't. I don't know about your car (Bob) before your tune job.

Anyone know if holding the button down works in the 2014s?

I've been seeing a few low mile 14s and they are looking very tempting (although the pick up truck gear selecter is strange).

It's a known fact that the traction control in the 2012 & up is much more aggressive then in the 2011, based on an interview of a senior Holden engineer.... for super smoky burnouts the 2011 IS the hot setup :)

While I haven't held the button down for 10 seconds, I can verify that pressing the sport shift and traction control buttons will result in smokey burnouts in a 2012. The car DOES complain, though.

Ding, Ding, Ding. Warning, Will Robinson! Aliens doing burnouts!!

And the dash looks like it's Christmas.

I'll have to try the 10-second mode.

There's 2 buttons on a 2012? I didn't know that. Try the 10 second thing and send us a pic of the show!

I'm not sure how many '14 owners are here.
