Washer Fluid Filler Neck

Post by Z09SS »

The other day I put washer fluid in.

The next morning, when backing out, the fluid that had been puddled on the splash guard spilled out onto the ground.

The leak was easy to find, the filler neck had come unplugged from the reservoir.

Plugging it back in was not as simple as I had hoped. Everything is in the way!

By separating the halves of the filler and removing the filler's bracket I could get the angle to get the lower half into the tank.

But the o-rings seemed a bit weak, so I got a new filler neck.

The new o-rings are certainly tighter, to the point that I needed to remove the airbox to get enough leverage to slide it home.

The Aussies are certainly creative about component placement.

Now I find that I don't have any washer fluid to check the repair.
