Finally broke 11s with the stock converter

Post by Scarce »

Long story short, car was making some valvetrain noise so it kind of snowballed and I decided I was just gonna delete the dod but didn't have the time or money to put a converter in it. Goal was to run an 11 at 120 on the stock converter. Took a couple months to get it dialed in but I did it. Had some good weather but I also had a passenger with me, race weight was just shy of 4300lbs for this pass.

Car has a vcm intake, ls3 maf sensor, rcr dragmaster sportsman cam (revised version), bone stock heads milled .035 with some btr .660 springs, speed engineering headers and x pipe into stock ss axle back. Has some f14 wheels but 28 inch rear tire and the fronts are 18x8 with factory size tire so not optimal by any means.

2 second 60' times is also pretty impressive with a stock converter. Nice work!!

If the time comes that you swap the the TC and want similar street manners consider the Chevrolet Performance 24045127 (CTSV and Camaro ZL1) from Summit. Great price, available, and as best I can tell slightly, nearly negligible higher stall than stock.

So now run 1/4 opposite direction uphill.....

Are you tuning transmission with HPtuners?

Yes using hp tuners, also road isn't downhill, I run it back the otherway "uphill" and it runs the same with a .5mph difference in trap speed at most. Also if you go to a track you'll see the fast ones actually have a slight downhill slope as well

A few questions for you if you don't mind. What size and type of tire did you run? Any rubbing with 28" rear tire? Any wheel spin? Stock rear end? Why the LS3 MAF? From my understanding our MAF isn't really a restriction N/A. Did you find that to be the case or did you find hp in going to the LS3 card style and larger diameter intake pipe?
