Hello I’m sure this has been covered..I’m on my 4th Caprice and EVERY DANG ONE the dam hood latch slams down on the frame and hood won’t close without lifting up the latch before closing. WTH. seems this should be a recall, but since it isn’t please HELP, how do I fix this issue? I have 2 Caprice currently and both have the issue???

I just grab the secondary latch with a pair of pliers and gentle pull the latch down and towards the front of the hood. If you look at the sheet metal on the bottom side of the hood where the secondary latch is at, it is not flat. It is flat on the my cars that have never had the latch problem. One of my projects is to make puller to pull that section down where it belongs. Make sure you drop some oil on the latch so the hood doesn’t have to be dropped or slammed to close it.
