Just thought I would ask as I plan out my dash mods. How accurate is everyone finding their OE dash gauge runs for temperature? If it seems to treat everyone well, I’ll stick with it.
I am going to get a T and add an oil gauge. Wondering if it is worth it to figure a way to add a real temp gauge. If so, is the best route you all have found is some sort of T, or had anyone found an unused port?

Re: Temp gauge add?
For some stupid reason, Holden felt it was best to have the gauge show one temp as long as the water temp is anywhere between thermostat opening temp to around 230F. I prefer the gauge to have some movement in that temp range. At least you would have an idea that it may be running warmer that normal cruising down the interstate at 85mph in 100F weather.
Re: Temp gauge add?
Good enough for me. Any car I don't have a real gauge I have always added one. I just wanted to ask in case this car was different. Now I just have to figure out where I'll put the gauge sensor .Sanford wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 8:55 pm For some stupid reason, Holden felt it was best to have the gauge show one temp as long as the water temp is anywhere between thermostat opening temp to around 230F. Re: Temp gauge add?
If you want to install an old school gauge, you can use the plug that is on the passenger side head towards the rear. Most folks just get a OBD2 gauge that plugs into the OBD2 port.
