Subwoofers...

Post by Tom Slick »

Anyone added any subwoofers to their car?

I'm trying to decide how to mount the enclosure for my 8" Kicker Solo-Baric L7... I will not screw it into the floor panel or cargo tray...

Was thinking of mounting it to the underneath of the rear deck... any thoughts?

Luckily, I added the amp signal lead to the Quadlock connector while I swapped out the radio!

Nobody?

Am I the only person installing a subwoofer?

I am using the stock radio... I added the amp enable wire to the Quadlock connector so the amp would always be on with the radio...

I have a Kicker L7 Solobaric 8" Dual 2 ohm subwoofer in a ported enclosure, powered with a Soundsteam Van Gogh 400.2 amp.

I have already "popped out" the sheetmetal where the factory 8"s would go, to better allow sound into the cabin...

I was thinking about the possibility of mounting the subwoofer enclosure to the bottom of the rear deck tray, right in the middle...

I replaced the door speakers already... I do plan on using one of the installed "L.E. equipement" breakers for the subwoofer amp. My big thing is figuring out how I want to mount the subwoofer enclosure in the trunk.

The G8's have them in the back dashpad... I have a single Kicker Solo-Baric 8" in a ported enclosure already...

Thanks,

Tom, when you say you added the 'amp signal lead to the Quadlock connector' were you talking about the remote-turn-on wire? Or full audio signal?
Thx.

The amp enable signal, or "turn-on" wire... allows the amp to be on while the radio is on, even when the key is out of the ignition.
