Radio - USB connection...

Post by Tom Slick »

Anyone have access to their radio?

Need someone to measure the distance from pin to pin on the USB connection... trying to source a connector for us.

Thanks,
Tom Slick

I ended up making my own, with insulated contacts on those pins... made it easy for the dealership to update my radio!

Finding that particular connector has been a challenge, though, I haven't completely given up!

Thanks to Chris White, I have sourced the USB connectors for our radio's...

So, I'm going to grab a USB/3.5mm receptacle, and and put together a wiring harness that will go to the USB and Front Aux connections on the radio. Think I'm going to mount it in the glove box... or the center console compartment... any thoughts?

Anyone interested in getting one of these USB connectors?

I would like a plug for mine. Since I have a 9C1 with cop console I would put it somewhere on there.

I'm going to pick up the receptacle, GM part # 20870101 tomorrow... It has a six pin connection on the back for the front aux 3.5mm stereo (uses 4 of 6, right, left, ground, switching), and a mini-USB for the USB...

They had the receptacle in the glove box, if I remember correctly...

My USB port is under the HVAC controls in front of the shifter. But an ideal place is in the arm rest.
