headlight adjustment

Post by cerbomark »

Is there a way to check the headlight adjustment (as far as beam direction) or is that not done anymore?

Doesn't t appear to have the same adjustment screws as 2014up may be different. The two top tabs screws move it a tiny bit.

Here are the bulbs, what are they, are they OEM for 2016?

and is there an up and down or sideways to how the bulbs sit when put in. I seem to get different light from the same bulbs on either side. It is hard to see which way they sit when putting them in because of lack of space. Thanks,.

Those are aftermarket LED bulbs. All Caprices came stock with halogens.

Maybe. Some are good, others not. Personally, I don't think they're there yet and I will likely go with HID's. You could try halogens and see the difference.

That LED bulb looks to be a low-end unit. You can do better. We’re running Opt7 LEDS in our Caprice, and ‘02 GMC, and are quite pleased with them. If doing it today, though, I’d look at Supernovas.

IIRC, we did have to modify the plug bracket on the bulb some to make everything fit, but it’s been a couple of years. Do some searching on ‘LED’, and the like, for more info on options and install notes.

Don t drive much at night but am traveling and my headlights are poor. I almost have to drive with the HIGH beams on too see on darker roads. What is wrong with these bulbs cause I got to believe the OEMS would be better? Need to switch something out here. Don t want to have to do any mods here, just plug and play. Do I go back to oem ? Just swap out the bulbs? I have never seen lights so bad as I have.
Don t want to spend more money if something else is wrong here. First owner swapped everything out that you see in the pic so I m not even sure what I m looking at or what OEM looks like. Thanks.
