camaro Brembos installed

Post by Maxspeed96ct »

Just wanted to share my install, 2010 Camaro ss calipers. 2016 ss sedan brake rotors and pads.

The stock brake lines work but you need the brembo banjo bolts.

Nice....what size wheels are you using?

How much of the rear brake shield did you trim?

What is your rotor source?

As for the Brembo banjo bolts--do you mean that the OE single-piston front caliper banjo bolts were the wrong thread pitch? The OE (Camaro) banjo bolts worked fine....correct?

I'm running 17" rear 18" front weld wheels

I trimmed the dust shield the exact OD as the rotor, mainly just the lip and about a 1/2" needs to be removed

Rotors are from powerstop ( nothing special really but its a brand ive used in the past with good luck)

Yes the oem brembo banjo bolts for the front, but just figured id mention you cant use the PPV ones and need the brembo specific. Some of the sellers don't include the banjo bolts.

the rear you need to use the OEM PPV bolts for the banjo bolt

Also you'll need longer bolts to hold the caliper to the hub, I don't remember the specs off hand though.

Ugh. Those welds look sick.

You use new or used 5th gen brakes? Actually use Camaro not CTS-V1?

CTS-V1 front calipers are something like $170... Camaro ones are $270+. Stupid. Even used 5th gen brakes are more than new CTSV1 fronts.

thanks, I love the welds but still shocked at the cost lol

Yes 5the gen Camaro brakes all around. I got them used for $200 for and about $130 for the rear calipers. But they needed paint.

I think the V1 front calipers use a m12 mounting bolt, and our car uses the m14 just like the 5 th gen calipers so I felt it was a better choice.

Man. Usually I hate chrome, but with those wheels and everything else it looks perfect.

Personally not a fan of green as brakes, but that’s your call, doesn’t look hideous though.

Everything about that car just looks “right”

they are raw polished aluminum not chrome.

I chose the green to jazz it up , the caprice is a pretty plain looking car.

Was more referring to the chrome trim around the windows. But I guess it would technically be stainless steel?

O ya I guess that is chrome, I was originally dead set on painting it flat black but now I may leave it.
really matches the wheels
