Today was a slow day at work, so I screwed around all day... Found a set of 18" 2016 Camaro wheels and tires for $275. So I snatched em up! I'll get a better picture tomorrow

Have some updating to do here for sure! Since the last time I updated, I have since installed the EBay Camaro SS Headers, ZL1/1LE stock midsection, and cut up the EBay muffler deletes to add in some Flowmaster Super 44’s. Built kinda a custom cold air intake out of the stock air box, with a drop in K&N filter, by removing the intake baffles using a Spectre G8 CAI! Currently also have a G8 GT sport wheel WITH functional paddle shifters, and the new Kayhan VE Series 2 Radio!

Backup cam installed tonight! Not too bad for an EBay $25 camera kit! Did a little playing with the Torque Pro app and got a layout put together that I like!

Well.. I cooked the diff, and broke a driveshaft bolt in the process doing John Force burnouts at the drag strip.... (keep in mind the car has 130k on it and I ride her pretty hard so......)

Decided if I’m going to put a diff in it, just as well rebuild the whole rear suspension and all.... Right???

Just as well, might as well go 3.27’s right?

So I started pricing everything. $$$$

In the process of this... a gentleman with a couple of NASTY SS’s mentions something about having a complete 2014 SS Sedan rear cradle, with 24k miles on it. So I figured, Why not!?!

He removed the rear cradle to upgrade his SS, and it’s all there. So... with the help of my buddy Shelby, we loaded up and made the 365 mile trip to just outside of Fort Worth to snatch it up! (Saw a lot of neat cars along the way, and even had an SS pass us on the way back)

While it’s not BRAND NEW... when we went to pick it up, I was amazed at the condition! So instead of rebuilding everything, I decided that a 106k LESS mile rear subframe assembly HAD to be a large improvement (and it is) to top it off, it’s a much larger sway bar that the stock PPV.

Since this cradle is out of a 2014, it utilizes the same brakes as our car, with the exception of the emergency brake cables..

The only thing that we changed in the process of this (other than the ebrake cables that I haven’t changed yet) was the wheel speed sensors and cradle harness.

The SS utilizes a different wheel speed sensor than at least my ‘13 has in it, we transferred over the PPV’s . Popped right in and has been working fine. This required swapping the harness over. Which was nothing more than a few plastic clips.

We left the SS Shocks and Springs (Shocks HAD to be, and they are, better than my 130k mile Shocks ) on the cradle, and put SS Springs on the front as well!

The SS Cradle bolted right up to the car, didn’t run into a single issue along the way, driveshaft bolts right up, same rubber coupling, same Bolts (requires basically all new bolts along the way)

All in all! SUPER happy! Car rides like a dream, drives like a dream, and looks soooo much better! Can’t wait to see what times she lays down!

It was a fun process... We did everything on a lift, I’m not sure this would have been as simple in a driveway.. but still wouldn’t be horrible with the right tools

We set jack stands just behind the cradle bolts and a jack under the diff itself to ensure everything stayed balanced then set the lift down to where it was just touching, and slowly began to lift the car off the cradle (e brake cables were already undone at this point, calipers off the brackets, body harness to cradle harness unplugged, Shocks unbolted, driveshaft unbolted and ready to slip out)
