2013 Camaro TPMS sensors on 2012 caprice? Can they be used?

Post by pc500 »

I bought a set of 18" wheels off 2013 Camaro 1LT. I would like to use the TPMS that are in them instead of paying a tire shop to remove the ones off my old black steelies and move them over. Is this possible?

I want to say YES, but the best I can do is "I think so"....if you look up aftermarket replacement for the application, there's cross-commonality between the sensors identified for the 2 vehicles, even though the current OE service parts are not the same. There are listings that indicate both systems operate at 315 MHz, but others say 433 MHz, so that's the dilemma.

Thank you.

Do I need to take any action to enable them, or will the computer automatically pair with them once I swap the wheels on the vehicle?

a reset/re-learn process will be necessary....see your owner's manual, or visit a dealer or tire shop with the reset tools.

Any idea what the current part number might be for new TPMS sensors for our PPVs?

EDIT: Would ACDelco 20925924 be correct?

$130 shipped for the set of four. Seller had the "buy it now" for $150 I think. I offered the $130 and he took it. I probably should've started with $120. Two were still wrapped in the unopened plastic, the other two were open but didn't have a mark them so I'm pretty confident they were never installed.

Rather than start a new topic...

My 2012 PPV has 2016 Camaro wheels on it, minus the TPMS sensors.

So which sensors do I buy? Do factory or aftermarket Caprice TPMS sensors fit the Camaro wheels?
