There is a plastic brace that is missing from there as well. THink it serves to stiffen up the area and provide something for the dome light assembly to mount into..

Thanks for the info.
Has anyone filled the hole left with anything other than a console?

You know if you need to fill up some more space maybe you could adapt a rear passenger DVD player to fit up there then send the DVD signal to some headrest monitors. Front passengers would control the DVD as opposed to how it was designed for the rear passengers to. But it would give you some dome lights up there:

It could also hook into the head unit after White does the programming. It using the GM LAN to control the DVD as well. that is pretty technical stuff but I bet you could get it working right.

Anyone know the part name or number I am after for the brace? I have the console coming....hole is slightly smaller than the console.

oh so the hole was not cut, thats good news. I am not seeing the brace as a seperate part, think it comes lightly glued to the headliner, There is a guy on Facebook right nor parting out a caprice, you on FB?centex2013 wrote:smwalker wrote:There is a plastic brace that is missing from there as well.
