I know this is an old thread but I'm interested in a hitch. The shipping is a bit much. I don't need it in 3 days... It could take a month! Is there cheaper shipping options?

Also, the exchange rate has gotten worse (for me) and I'm guessing the cost is higher now. Is there an update on price?

You're probably better off emailing Paul directly:

crazypaul@iinet.net.au

Response might be quicker and less-frustrating.

Just an update on my hitch I bought from Australia...make sure you get pictures and confirmation of the actual part shipped because I was the victim of bait and switch. The seller sold me the lower tow rating one that's nearly worthless to me.

So, I didn't feel like spending $1000 on a hitch and I didn't want the lame capacity of the Curt hitch, so I made my own.

Here is a little info for anyone else that decides to do it.

The bolts for the bumper brackets are 10MMx1.50x100MM for the long ones. You want grade 10.9 (eq to Grade 8 standard)

2x3x.250 wall rectangular tubing just barely fits into the bumper bracket holes (frame rails)

You can cut the impact bar brackets off of the bumper brackets and they will fit over the 2x3 tubing.

I know this is an old thread but I'm curious what solution everyone came up with for trailer harnesses? I just ordered the Hopkins 48925 from Amazon so I can install my hitch in a couple days.
