Cooling fan motor - now covered for 6 years / 100k miles

I just got a letter from GM regarding cooling fan motors that can fail prematurely, primarily from extended idling. They extended coverage to 6 years from in-service date, or 100k miles. I've replaced 1, at about 103k miles. Thanks GM! lol

I haven't seen anyone talking about it on here as of yet. Oh, and mine's a 2012. I'm not sure if it includes other years, as the letter just says, "some 2012 model year Caprice vehicles..."

The letter will surface, someone else can post it here, if it matters--for those that want to, or may already be on the FB Caprice PPV page, they can look at Nick's photo of the letter.

I posted for reference only, to state that the bulletin does seem to be applicable to several model years.

I'm not at home--if the letter is there, I won't see it for several weeks, at least.

I just got my letter. It applies to 2014 MY also. I'm not too alarmed by this as my car will never see the extended idling that an in service car would see but something to keep an eye on. Ford had almost the exact same problem on its 2007-2009 CVPI failing except they did not extend the warranties to its customers and that car has only one engine fan so when it fails your up a creek.
