2014 PPV order guide

Post by Navy Lifer »

The PPV for 2014 looks to be significantly different, specs-wise, as the WM Caprice (LWB) updates to WN a la VE >>>VF (SWB). No more 9C3, as I read it, for starters. While there are some nice features in the 2014 version, the personalization of the new model will potentially be more challenging. The 2011-2013 cars should hold value quite well, until L77 is replaced by LT1....

Deletions

Exterior color (GGG) Alto Grey Metallic (so long old friend!)
(9C3/1SC) Detective equipment group, which included front bucket, cloth with heavy-duty foam, cloth rear bench seats, front center console with armrest and 2 auxiliary power outlets
(UBW) AM/FM stereo with CD player
(DD4) Inside rearview mirror with compass
(A6G) Driver 8-way power seat adjuster
(A6F) Front passenger 8-way power seat adjuster
Sunglass holder
Floor-mounted shift lever
(K4S) 600 cold-cranking amps auxiliary battery
(N40) power rack-and-pinion steering and power steering oil cooler

New Features

(UFU) Chevrolet MyLink radio, AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback, includes 7" diagonal color touch-screen display
(UP9) Bluetooth for phone and music, personal cell phone connectivity to vehicle audio system, voice recognition, music navigator and streaming audio
(D31) Inside rearview manual day/night mirror
(TKA) Center console equipment mounting platform
(AH6) Driver 6-way power seat adjuster
(AH7) Front passenger 6-way power seat adjuster
(M1A) Column-mounted shift lever
(K5S) 700 cold-cranking amps auxiliary battery
(NJ1) Electric power steering (EPS)
Surveillance mode, circuit for connection to customer switch
Instrument panel and cluster
Folding key blade fob (how about that!)

Changes

(BTV) Remote vehicle starter system with Remote Keyless Entry is now standard (and that!)
Jet Black interior code changed from (4BB) to (4AA)
Front bucket, cloth with heavy-duty foam, cloth rear bench seat code changed from (ADX) to (H1T)
Front bucket, cloth with heavy-duty foam, vinyl rear bench seat code changed from (ACC) to (HCQ)
Tire Pressure Monitor System code changed from (UJ6) to (UJM)

WHOA! So, if I read this correctly, it looks like the 9C3 is history after 2013? I guess this means everyone gets the flat center console for mounting equipment in 2014 & after?

I will be very, very curious to see the final on the order guide. Also, someone on another forum just brought attention to the fact the new shifter is actually not a column shifter but a dash-mount shifter based on the spy pics (it's being called a column shifter by GM, see my other post in the Lounge).

Electric power steering.... hmmmm.... anyone ever drive a G6 with the electric assist doing the funky chicken? That will be noteworthy of following closely. I recall some issues with the G6 trying to run itself into walls, guardrails, etc... because the electric steering assist went south at a bad moment. Wonder if the SS is going to share this feature?

This also confirms no Holden iQ after 2013. Another orphan audio unit. Sigh.......

Electric power steering is the future. The ZL1 Camaro already has it, the Z/28 will have it, and, yes, the VF/SS Performance Sedan gets it.

Some very interesting stuff there. Can't wait to see some photos of the column mounted gear shifter.

Um, pardon the stupid question, but where is the files section?

EDIT: nevermind, I found it. It's not in the forum area. It's off of the front page of the website. Doh.
