Your thoughts on purchasing my first PPV and its a 9C3
Your thoughts on purchasing my first PPV and its a 9C3
I am in the market for my first Caprice PPV. There is a local 2011 9C3 with a complete interior, everything works, windows F&R, full console, less than 75k miles, still has DOD, and has Camaro 20's, never in service by a Gov't.
Purchase will be from the second owner, with the first owner being GM, paperwork included.
My thoughts center around buying a 9C1 and adding all the pieces to create a fully functional car, like this 9C3.
Based on what I've read on the forum and looking at parts prices, it seems more financially beneficial to purchase this 9C3, instead of a 9C1 and adding all the parts.
The asking price is $13,500. Any thoughts or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing like the real thing. Seems like an OK deal.

^^What he said. If carpet and a console are your thing, the 9C3 is worth the premium. Installing, heck, even getting it now, carpet is a big deal. Everything has to come out, and some carpet cutting has to be done, unless you pull most of the dash. The console is another thing, and includes some wiring work.
I'm kind of fond of the rubber mat, although the car is a bit louder inside with it, but would love to have the console already in place. I'd do that purchase in a heartbeat.

Thank you for your input. My goal, regardless of which model I purchase, is to have a fully functional interior. That said, this 9C3 presents a 90% finished product w/o the expense and time of adding the appropriate parts, as well as freeing up $$ for the DOD delete and other mods.
Thanks again for your input and I look forward to posting pics, soon.

So Josh, what did you end up doing? Did you snag the 9C3 or are you still shopping?
Thanks
Eric

Hey Eric, I pulled the trigger and brought her home last Friday. I'm SO STOKED!!! This car is SOOO CLEAN and well taken care of. Added LED high, low and fogs, today and removed the wheel spacers the previous owner had installed.
The mod list is growing. Those Doug Thorley?? long tubes look real nice. Got a set of BC Coils I gotta pick up from them, hopefully next week. Got my eye on a 3.27 diff, just need the time to go get it.

Nice find on that one, especially if it was never in govt. service - sounds like the same deal my old 9C3 was.
