Hello-
Will the 2014 to present L86 engine drop in a 2014 Caprice? If so any issues? Has anyone done this?
Thank you for taking time to read this!

Re: L86 Engine
Agree with s/c'd cav - the GenV engine control functions are largely unable to communicate with earlier engine/trans/vehicle interfaces.
Curious what interests you in using the L86? Plenty of LS engines out there that cost less in the long run....is it the Direct Injection, or something else?
Contact Speartech to see if they have a solution....they can tell you what is or is not possible. https://www.speartech.com/

Re: L86 Engine
Thanks s/c'd cav and Navy Lifer
Just a curiousity, the truck engines are built for torque the bhp on an L86 is listed as 460lbs. and there are lots of trucks out there. I did not think of the interface issue, but that is why I asked.
Again, thank you.

Re: L86 Engine' Other swappables
Having read that Holden put the LS3 in later versions of their cars, is this plug and play in a WN series Caprice? Are all Gen IV's swappable excluding the transverse mounted ones?
Re: L86 Engine
all gen 4's are swapable , but items for some motors maybe require extra work , like doing a lsa or ls7
