Glad to hear you're satisfied! Setup?
I know the feeling... after that first blast at WOT on the highway, I was like oh.... oh ok so that's where my efforts went.

No O2 sensors connected? How did it run at all? One woul have thought the O2 sensor bungs would have been part of the exhaust install!!

It has the bungs, just not close enough to the connectors for his liking. He installed them in the existing bungs, just not connected. With no O2 sensors, any engine will run on pre-programmed tables according to other inputs like the MAF, MAP and throttle. This is so it's still driveable if a sensor were to fail. I shouldn't drive it like this too much because it typically runs richer than normal but that doesn't matter at WOT, . I should be able to get them done tomorrow with better weather.

Re: What did you do to your Caprice today?
Was just driving it around doing errands. Just when I pull in line at Costco for gas, she started misfiring irregularly. WTF? Eventually the money light came on. Got it home and hooked up the Tech 2. P0300. Damn. Ran it with misfire graph up and clearly showed cylinder 3 missing but it wasn't steady. I was betting the exhaust shop broke the plug. I was close. The wire came loose off the plug. However, this did alert me to the main battery wire that was touching the same header and melted a bit. That could have been really, REALLY bad if it would have shorted!
All good now.

Here's a pic of that wire. Oh, I also replaced the crap original dipstick for a cable type. Much better.

Re: What did you do to your Caprice today?
I saw that replacement dipstick project that RCG posted a while back. I need to do that, too. I'm not overly fond of the wire-type dipstick, we have one on our '02 2500HD Duramax, but it's certainly better than the rivited dipstick the car comes with. Who, in the depth of their ignorance, would think riviting pieces of a dipstick together was a good idea?!?
I've had a dipstick break off in a car before (1972 TransAm) and it was NOT fun retreiving it!! And it was a one-piece dipstick.
Sadly, I've done nothing on our 9C1 in a while, not even driving it! Been hunkering down in our little corner of the swamp, and working on other projects that have been keeping us quite busy.

Re: What did you do to your Caprice today?
Yesterday, gave her a whore's bath at the coin wash, filled her up and we drove 440km to visit our son and his family for the weekend. Passed quite a few vehicles that weren't fast enough or able to keep a steady speed. That same night, took it with my son on a deserted road and killed a lot of bugs. And she still had some more to give
Today, after all that, I gassed her up again and calculated an actual 21.2 MPG! That's my best ever even when the AFM was working. And I wasn't babying her at all, driving it like I stole it.
In the picture, it says gassed today on 08/20 but was actually today. Hadn't used the Fuelly app since last year.

Re: What did you do to your Caprice today?
Did a trans pan and filter change last Friday, took my sweet time and had it done in probably 45 minutes. I dont like the lack of a dipstick so I ordered one while I was under the car. I'll put it on Thursday when it comes in depending on if I get the parts to get my broke ass truck out the garage.

That’s funny as hell. I washed mine today like it was my first car. Goof off’d some of the cop sticker glue also. More to go tomorrow. I have a high speed test drive to do as well after swapping out a bent front wheel with the spare.

@Nate68c10 , which dipstick did you order?
