How do I completely turn off stability and traction control on this 2014 short of pulling fuses?
On the SS you double tap the traction control, but I tried that on the Caprice and it only turns off traction control. I can’t slide sideways in the snow and it’s making me angry.

Re: Stability control
On my 2012 i press and hold the TC button for about 5 seconds, then I get "stabilitrak off" as a notification. No idea if 14+ works the same but might as well give it a shot.

Re: Stability control
You can get it to turn off. But when you slide it sideways it’s very clearly not off.
You would only notice it if you were drifting the car. Dry pavement or snow. Normal driving it still lets it get out a little bit. But I want full control. No nannies.

Re: Stability control
You are not holding the button long enough. Press the traction control button down and do not release for at least 5 seconds. You will get a message that says Stability Control Off. Just pressing the button turns off traction control only while SC remains active. Engine must be on while doing this.

Re: Stability control
Heh, yep. We autocross our Caprice on occasion. I remember coming in too hot to the finish, hard on the brakes, and a quick whip of the wheel to make the left-hander into the finish straight. The back end stepped out, probably about 15-20-degrees. I got hard on the throttle to accelerate to the finish lights, and crossed the line with my right foot flat on the floor, and the engine at idle.
I laughed all the way back to grid.
I think to fully-turn the stuff off, you'll have to get the BCM programmed, but then, it's probably a permanent thing.
