How do you get a loan with no Kelly Blue Book Value?

Post by RoadComic »

I'm curious what you guys did to get loans for these cars? I got approved for way more than I need for the PPV I am trying to buy, but the bank won't loan for that car because they can't determine the value of the asset since there's no Blue Book value. Have any of you guys gotten around this somehow?

There's some good info in this thread:

Myself I had to just suck it up and get a personal loan at 10% or something high like that (even though I have great credit). I think others were able to get a actual car loan at low interest by shopping around banks, I was in a rush though so couldn't do that.

Yeah, I found that thread after I posted this. My credit union has agreed to use the NADA value, but now I need to apply through them. We shall see. It's definitely an obstical to purchase one of these.

I couldn't get mine to go with the NADA, they said it was their policy to use KBB only. They wouldn't use multiple services because people would argue which valuation if they differed was the correct valuation. Sounds like you'll get it handled, enjoy.

I had zero issues getting approved on an auto loan through my credit union (at 4.5%). I believe they used NADA to get values, but in any case they determined my 2012 9C1 with 112k miles was worth around $16,500.
