Interesting 2011 prototype pics

Post by elc32955 »

I was browsing around and found a neat site that had some pre-release 2011 PPV pictures that I'd never seen before....

What caught my attention was the earlier version of the 9C1 console in particular. Looks like there were many iterations of the design that made it as far as test production before the final one we know was locked down.

Interesting, for sure: in no particular order....leather seats & wheel, flip key, red IP DIC screen lighting (Pontiac?), steering wheel air bag emblem with red (Pontiac?), black trim on shifter/console, trunk lid carpet(!), no trunk lid key (latch) activation cable (left corner of trunk lid), full "glass" touch-screen center stack controls (nice artwork!), and the list goes on....they did a decent job with the final version, IMO!

Also, the GM Media link from C.P. shows that there was some consideration given to front-end styling influences via the first gen CTS Cadillac "Art & Science" design language.
