Tennessee Highway Patrol

Post by Troutman »

I am reading reports that these vehicles have started to hit the streets.

Department Name: Tennessee Highway Patrol

Department Head: Colonel Tracy Trott

Location: Nashville, TN

Description: Chevrolet Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicle with a 6.0L V8 355 horsepower engine was the chosen the Tennessee Highway Patrol sedan for 2013. This design was carried over from the last Chevrolet Caprice that THP utilized 1993. General Motors offered a factory direct equipment package including wig-wag simulation, high intensity LED side warning and taillamps lights. Taking into consideration the diverse geography of the state, with the mountainous region of the east to the flat lands of the west the Whelen Liberty Lightbar is utilized for its ultra-intensive light output in operation with low profile that is hard to be detected until lit. The reflective material extends the full length of each side of the vehicle to increase visibility and improve officer safety. The Black and Cream paint scheme is a lifelong tradition highly recognizable by the citizens of the state. The design is readily identified as a Tennessee State Trooper with the shape of the state of Tennessee incorporated into the decal design. No other vehicles in the state have the same design and color scheme.

that thing has one heck of a cow-catcher on front--Casey Jones would be proud!

again, note the difference in this model year--rear bumper fascia, area between tailpipes is solid, while 2011 had a separate panel, with the outline for hitch pass-through

TN isn't the only state getting some use out of the PPV!
