Going to go autocross for the first time this upcoming Sunday, SCCA south Georgia event in Moultrie, GA. A friend of mine in Tallahassee talked me into it, going up Saturday and coming back Monday. Gonna run novice class for the first few times & see what happens. There's cars there with some serious horsepower so I know I won't be winning any trophys, but it will be good fun. Brings me back to my old public safety EVOC class... lol....

Bill, you have the deck & the conn for the weekend.

Thanks
Eric

So, you'll be at Spence Field, eh? That's some OLD tarmac & concrete, and it will be interesting to know how much (or little) grip it provides....as the racers often say, everyone has to deal with the same conditions.

Spence is now "re-purposed" as a multi-use and light industrial property, and I assume there's still an active air strip of some sort.

It is also the home of the Sunbelt Ag Expo and one of the largest automotive swap meets in the Southeast--twice a year, before the Daytona spring (late March) event and the week before Daytona Turkey Run--catches vendors and participants as they're heading south to Daytona. Always interesting things to see and buy there.
