PPV - The Perfect Dog Hauler

Post by Silversled »

I'm continuing to discover useful things to do with the PPV. This morning my wife took the SUV and I ran errands with my German "Shedder". After coming home, all it took was 5 minutes with the leaf blower and a quick wipe of the durable vinyl rear seats and the interior was clean.

The lack of carpet doesn't help the PPV in the luxury car department but it sure makes it the best dog hauler I have.

We throw our perps, er, pups in our Caprice and Tahoe all the time. Yes, easy to clean, and their toenails don't hurt the vinyl.

My soon-to-be search dog is enjoying her new ride. (2011 PPV 9C1)

She's getting her own K9 compartment in the back.

This should be completed tomorrow.

Rongo,
That's awesome. Please post picts when you are done with your compartment. I'd love to see it.

Here is the mostly-finished project.

Soon-to-be Search Dog, Branna Die Wunderhund, loves the new playground.
(That is a 15-week old Bernese Mountain Dog. She's likely to be about 100lbs. Feet are already like snowshoes.)

On the list:
- dual air circulation fans
- on-board food and water station
- rear compartment lighting
- overheating alarm

Thanks man....if we ever totaled up the amount of money we spend on our dogs, our wives would kill us.

I was thinking of getting a cage and installing it in my car, for my kids. But this is way better for the dogs! nice work.

The cage was already in the car, so all-in was about $100, not including the vent fan and overheat sensor. (+$300)

Seeing that the purpose-built dog compartments from Havis and Setina are both $2000+, this came out OK.

Let me know if you go this route and i'll send you the templates for the floor and seat-back.
