Agreed, and the departments that have them generally like them. I think the issue is that it's not common, and an import, so many departments are afraid of costs and supply of replacement parts. That, and many already have a pretty big running inventory of Fords. If they have GM, it's usually a Tahoe, or Lumpala.

Yeah there is a lot of mis information surrounding this car. Parts have never been an issue for us and many are in stock at the dealer. Also I wonder why this same concept never kept anyone from buying a BMW, Honda or any other imported vehicle?

Our agency was hesitant to buy them but after getting the people who are in the know, involved in the decision and setting the facts straight, administration chose the Caprice after testing all of the other vehicles. Now that we have them, 95 percent great feedback from the officers and administrators. Will continue to buy them as long as GM will allow us to. We are even saving a significant amount in the fuel budget on the these cars compared to the Crown Vics they are replacing.

Well my agency has been very pleased with the cars and just placed an order for another round of Caprices. 12 cars this time around. Should show in the April stats.

Sounds like a plan. Who ever gets mine down the road will be lucky. I take care of this thing like it was one of my children. I'm so OCD, I even have been paying out of my own pocket for the correct oil since the city garage doesn't believe in factory recommendations!

April 2015 numbers are in, 147 units sold. Someone needs to inculcate these guys in the mantra of "SELLSELLSELL!!"... or lower the bid prices... or a combo.

Well nice to know 1 of those 147 was mine! The same dealership I bought mine from, sold their last new 2013
model the same day I bought my 2014.

May 2015 numbers are in, 124 units sold during this month. This brings total units sold to 12,884 cars from MY11 to MY15. 12,888 units if you count the four Canadian Caprices in 2011.

Just a few other numbers for you, the Chevrolet SS has sold 4,077 units through 5/31/15 over their two model years (MY14 & MY15). The Pontiac G8 sold 38,433 units in the US over it's two model years (MY's 08 & 09) with another 2,863 units sold in Canada for a grand total of 41,296 units.

It's a shame. These cars just never really made that impact in the police market like they thought they would. Such a great car for work. I don't know if they had issues importing them to certain dealers, or if the Caprice didn't get the state bid? Ford dominates police fleets in NJ.
