Handbrake Parts Wanted

Post by kaylin4u »

I'm putting a pontiac g8 center console in, but somehow I'm missing the bracket where the ball of the ebrake cable hooks into it and bolts to the handbrake lever. Somehow when I pulled it from the G8 in the parts yard, it wound up missing. Can't find a picture of it on the internet to properly describe this. Any help would be appreciated.

If not, then I guess I'll have to put the old 9c1 console back in (ugh)

If you're talking about the small adjuster bracket that's at the ball end of the cable, I just cut a slit in it to get it off the G8 cable and put it on the 9C1 cable however you don't even have that. You might have to buy a 9C3 cable.

I actually have one that I never used if you can't get it from GM. Shipping will be a bitch from here though.

Can you take a picture of your cable? I'm gonna call GM sometime to see if there's a specific part number for it.

Sorry mate if I got your hopes up. I just can't find it in my garage's pile of poop.

This post shows the bracket:

He welded it. I didn't.

The cable with the bracket/adjuster block is Part #92191009. I show it as NLA. GMPartsdirect shows a price so may still be available.

I see it online anywhere from what you said to $132. It's probably worth the price here in the US. I will order it soon. I'm glad the block is there. I can work with that.

There is a guy an FB that is machining them with a slot so you can slip it on the old cable. Will try to post his info.
