Media Cables, Harnesses, Plugs

Post by smwalker » Wed Jan 22, 2020 5:59 am

I have the following media cords and harnesses available for sale. Keep in mind most all of these cords need to have programming done to the head unit for the items to work.
See Chris White at www.whiteautoandmedia.com for programming services.

WM Caprice PPV - 2011-2013

USB / 3.5mm Aux In Kit - This kit consists of 2 cords and an included GM receptacle (25832462). The receptacle will get mounted somewhere in your interior to your liking. Cords are about 5 feet long to reach many places. USB cord will get plugged into the drivers side of the radio. AUX in cord requires inserting 4 wires into the main radio plug.
COST: $65.00 Shipped

20 Pin Video Input Connector - This connector will give you a standard female RCA connector for the rear camera video input and the DVD video input. NOTE: If you are adding a factory rear camera set up to a WM PPV this connector will be included with the camera harness. If you are adding an aftermarket backup camera then this connector will plug right into the standard RCA patch cord that usually comes with the aftermarket units.
COST: $35.00 Shipped

Factory Rear View Camera Harness - This harness is used when you are installing the Factory GM rear view camera from the 2015+ PPV. You will buy the Camera and the Trunk Harness from GM. This harness will continue on to the IQ radio and plug into the side with an included 20 pin video input connector.. It will get it's power from the AUX battery relay and turn on signal via a splice into the reverse light circuit in the trunk on the passenger side of the vehicle. (see below for similar picture)
COST: $90.00 Shipped

WN Caprice PPV - 2014 +

USB / 3.5mm Aux in kit - Similar receptacle to the kit above just with different terminals to be inserted into the Mylink radio connector and the factory installed USB plug in the harness of the center console. 2015+ Mylinks need programming for the AUX in to work.
COST: $50.00 Shipped

Factory Rear View Camera Harness - This harness is used when you are installing the Factory GM rear view camera from the 2015+ PPV. You will buy the Camera and the Trunk Harness from GM. This harness will continue on to the MyLink radio and you will need to insert 2 terminals into one of the radio plugs on the back of the unit. It will get it's power from the AUX battery relay and turn on signal via a splice into the reverse light circuit in the trunk on the passenger side of the vehicle.
COST: $75.00 Shipped

Two questions about the camera harness.

First the header says 14 +, but in the description you say 15+ which is it? ( I have a 14)

What if any has to be programmed for the camera to work?

Ted

The Camera parts come from a 15+ so they do not need my harness as it comes with a camera from the factory. So really the harness for the 14 is only needed on the 14. I was trying to think of an elegant way to say that and also imply that my harness can be used on the 11-13's using a 15+ camera. Think I failed! LOL

For the 11-13 and the 14 the silver radio box in the dash has to be programmed. Which means sending the entire box in to Chris. On the 14's Chris can also update the box to give you some other features and moving back up lines that is pretty neat.
Some discussion if it here: Installing Factory Rear Vision Camera on a 2014

If I were to connect a DVD player, does the 3.5mm audio connect with the AUX in? Also, will I get backup camera, plus DVD options?

I still need to get the silver box flashed.

Once the silver box is programmed you will get

Audio AUX in - Via 3.5mm (or could be RCA's if you wish)

Rear Seat Entertanment - Video Input is via the 20 pin connector (that also gives you Backup Camera input) .
The Audio Channels come in via 3 spots on the main radio plug (separate from the Audio AUX in mentioned above)

Make sense? So really you get two audio AUX in's one is just tied to the onscreen video as well.
